Hello.
Do you remember learning any basic concepts through song? This is a commin method of teaching basic concepts in preschool and kindergarten.
yeah- i do!.
when i was first learning to count, i used to learn through an animated series of songs by the number bears- and another series as well called professor playtime.
lol the number bears were better, because they also did songs about multiplication and other maths problems- and made it fun.
when I was 3, barney taught me this days of the week song:
there are 7 days, there are 7 days, there are 7 days in a week,
sunday, monday, tuesday, thursday, friday, saturday.
I was just about to mention the days of the week song. LOL What about the quadratic formula? Anyone else learn it to the tune of pop goes the weezel? After my teacher had us sing it I learned it so well I could say it in my sleep.
lol i had a toy barney too.
when ever the programme was on, you'd plug him in to the tv, and it would interact with the programme.
voyager, I didn't know songs even existed about concepts of any level beyond elementary school. As for laced-unlaced's comment about the toy barney, you didn't really plug him in to the tv. you instead plug in something called a tv pack, and the toy barney used an internal radio chip. the toy was discontinued in 2001 due to coppyright issues, but was made by microsoft.
chech out:
the calculus rapsody song
funny!
I'm sure you all know a song about how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, right? I'm serious there is such a song, it's on barney:).
ESPKing, what happened to Wednesday? Oh, perhaps I'd better ask Barny. Hahaha. I don't recall learning the quadratic formula by song, but have heard that the cubic formula was set to rhyme by its discoverer--an Italian mathematician whose name escapes me. Lots of old oral histories, myths, stories, etc were set to rhyme and/or sung; it aids the memory and dramatizes the tale.
sorry, forgot to type that while writing the lirecs.
and now for the humerous ending:
sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, ...barney's birthday?
WOW, what a humerous way to end a catchy song, by having the days of the week interupted!
Yes, I thought it was mildly amusing. After typing that, I'd begun to wonder whether the caffeine had gotten to me, after all. I was working on my 2nd vente dark roast. Oh, we were talking about learning by song. Ever hear the table of the elements set to a catchy tune? I have, many times, and cannot vouch for the tune's effectiveness. I guess somethings are just not meant to be learned that way. Hahaha.
Remember that animaniacs episode when they sung the presedents of the united states to the tune of the lone ranger theme? That was so epic.
Yes, and countries of the world, starting in the Americas. So, now, we've earned our toon degrees at Acme Lu. LOL.
You forgot the the US state capitals song from that episode.
As they say in Twitterville, #fail LOL.
epic fail. I was wondering, did you ever hear dectalk sing the abc song?
